Summer Highlights

Of course the first week of school we were still longing for those days of summer. We tried to focus on just one particular moment from our summer to share. We even got out a magnifying glass to help us focus on just a tiny part of our summer so that we wouldn’t have just a list of the events of our summer. Here are a few of our summer highlights:

One hot day on June 12th we were watching TV. A call came. It was from my dad. He said, “You have a baby brother.” When we came to the hospital, he looked like a monkey! Zooming through the hospital, I said, “We have a monkey brother!” When we went inside, he was hairier than ever! The day he came home, I called him a grizzly bear! Raneem

When I went to my dad’s house, my dad and I went the lake and innertubing. I was holding on and my dad was trying to sling me off the innertube. Then we relaxed in the water and had a good time. Chase

I was looking at cars. Then I saw a Farari. It was so awesome! Then my brother was looking at a black convertible. That was so awesome! After that, I went to see what my dad was looking at. It was a station wagon. It was a car store. I loved my summer. Finn

We went to Hilton Head Island. When we went to the beach, my brother and I got in our floaty boat. And when we got in, I was not looking and a big wave hit me. And I fell off. So I stood up and was going to jump back into the boat when another big wave hit me and I fell over. Then we went home. Ian

I went to Six Flags with my family (not with my mom). It was fun. There were bumper cars, rollercoasters, trains, swings, balloons, and more. The bumper cars were the best. We rode the bumper cars 4 times! Jennifer

Finding a Fishing Pole (A True Story)
I was swimming. I felt something. It was a fishing pole. I got out of the water. I told my dad. He said, “Where is it?” I said, “Underwater.” He said, “Go get it.” I couldn’t find it. So I jumped in and found it again. My sister helped me get it out and on the dock. We washed it off. It was awesome! Wyatt

In the summer I went to see a movie with my dad. We went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We had popcorn and drinks. It was really late when we left. Allison

I remember when we went to the beach. Me and my cousin were riding our bikes. When we were done riding our bikes, we went to the ocean. Wehn we were in the ocean, we saw two dolfins. It was getting kind of dark so we got out and watched the fireworks. Then we all went back to the beach house. Nick

When I went to Pigeon Forge, me and my dad did go carts. First you went up the hill and it was spiral. Then you went up and and down a hill. Next you go down a spiral hill. Afer we did four rounds, a girl wrecked us. After that we didn’t get to do any more rounds. Reagan

One day at Six Flags I sat on the Scream Machine ride. The first drop I felt like I was flying in the air. It was the best ride yet! I screamed so hard by the time I got home, my throat hurt. That’s all about the Scream Machine. Christian

This summer I went tubing with my sister. There were a lot of boats so we went through a lot of bumps. It was scary because I haven’t gone tubing in a long time. We were lucky because we didn’t fall off. We tubed a little bit longer then we had to stop. Emily

I went to Six Flags and I got to ride Goliath. It was really fun. Before we left Six Flags, we went to Skull Island adn went on waterslides. We went on baby ones and big ones. Jacy

Hey Mrs. McCullers Class! I enjoyed reading all of your summer highlights. You reminded me a lot of the things I loved so much when I was in third grade myself – like the lake, swimming, Six Flags, the movies! I’m so glad you will be blogging this year. I can’t wait to read more of your writing and comments. Happy Blogging!

This is very cool!
I have never blogged before, so I look forward to keeping in touch with what’s going on in class. The summer writing assignments were terrific!

This summer I went to see a movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It really wasn’t that scary until the end with LordVoldomort. The movie was really funny. The grosest part was the kiss!
